This firm has a Business Principles Policy, which provides the following guidelines to all members of staff, which guides them to ensure ethical conduct in their relationships with their colleagues and clients with whom they interact on daily basis. The company therefore expects all staff to abide by the set principles listed below and as may be improved from time to time.
- All company staff must perform their duties with honesty, integrity and to the best of their abilities. They must not allow themselves to be unduly influenced by anything or anybody.
- At all times, the staff should treat clients with fairness, courtesy and sensitivity with respect to their rights and dignity.
- The Staff must accept accountability for their actions and decisions and also appreciate positive criticism.
- They must behave in a way which doesn’t compromise their positions.
- They must comply with all procedures that apply to the company and the way it conducts its business thus, upholding the positive image of the company at all times.
- They are expected to use the information obtained from the company only for the purpose for which it is intended and within their delegated authority or in work allocated to them.
- They should treat the assets and the property of the company as theirs.
- They are expected to share and declare any information they may have about personal or company conflict of interests to avoid a compromising situation.
- They are expected to refuse any gift that could be regarded as an attempt to exert undue influence in them.
- They should report behaviour in conflict with this code, but should not suppress unnecessarily any positive and constructive contributions and criticisms.
- They should consult their supervisors or managing partner if in doubt about the applicability of this policy to any given circumstances.
